Mediation works great for settling small claims cases in Gray Harbors, Washington.

From July 1, 2007, to July 1, 2008, the first full year of mandatory mediation in small claims court, more than 300 cases were filed at the court. Only 22 went to trial. The rest were resolved through mediation.

Course Title: Mediation Training

A 40-hour intensive training designed to teach the skills needed to become a facilitative mediator. This training model uses the interest-based approach common in community dispute resolution.

The facilitative mediation model will give you the foundation needed to handle family issues, interpersonal dynamics, conflicts with neighbors, employers, merchants, landlords, care facilities, and schools.

This training meets the classroom requirement for certification through the Washington Mediation Association.

This seminar presents a step-by-step approach to the mediation process and emphasizes the concepts, strategies, and skills effective in resolving conflicts.

The program includes several simulated mediation exercises on employee, neighbor, customer/business, landlord/tenant, and environmental conflict so you can practice the skills learned in the program with the support of our coaches, who are experienced mediators.

This is the basic course required by most mediation centers to qualify as a mediator. This course examines the theory and practice of mediation in all of its facets.

Combining practical applications with theory from the very outset, this course will transform the way you look at conflict and open avenues for resolution that you did not know existed. This course is taught by certified, practicing mediators who bring a wealth of practical experience to share with you.
