Beginning this fall, Lone Star College-Montgomery will launch a 40-hour Basic Mediation Training course for aspiring mediators, managers, human resource directors, teachers, police officers, nurses, counselors, ministers, clergy, or parents.
This intensive training complies with both the Texas statutory requirement for mediation training and the Texas Mediation Trainers Roundtable Standards.

Course Title: 40-Hour Basic Mediation Training
Course Description (according to the course provider)
The 40-Hour Basic Mediation Course, held at the DRC training center, is a 5-day training offered to the general public several times each year. This highly interactive course has been designed to be fun, participatory and to appeal to a variety of adult learning styles.
At the end of the training participants are given documentation of attendance hours for the training which is in compliance with the Alternative Dispute Resolution Procedures Act Texas Civil Practice & Remedies Code Sec. 154.052. Professional Continuing Education and MCLE credits are available.

The Advanced Family Mediation Training, held at the DRC training center, is a 30-hour training fulfilling the Texas ADR Act requirements for mediators doing court-ordered family mediation. The sessions include family law, family dynamics, domestic violence, child development, ethical and practical considerations in a combined lecture and role play environment.
Basic Mediation Training is required prior to taking this course.
