The Mediation Program offered by the city of Surprise, Arizona provides trained volunteers who act as an impartial third party to facilitate discussion between disputing parties and help them to arrive at a mutually satisfying solution.

The Community Mediation Program will consider the following types of disputes: neighbor-to-neighbor, resident to HOA board or committee, landlord-tenant, consumer issues, resident to city, commercial and business disagreements, and workplace related disputes.

They are a multidisciplinary organization whose members participate in dispute resolution in a large range of areas such as divorce and family disputes, workplace conflicts, commercial disputes, community conflicts, civil rights matters, and teaching conflict resolution in the schools.

The organization works to promote the professionalism of dispute resolvers, to sponsor research leading to the development of innovative dispute resolution techniques and procedures, and to serve as a clearinghouse of information in the field of dispute resolution in Arizona.
